Earthquake of Magnitude 4.0 Strikes Delhi-NCR

An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.0 on the Richter scale struck Delhi-NCR early Monday morning, according to the National Center for Seismology (NCS). The tremor occurred at 5:36 AM at a depth of 5 km.

The sudden shaking sent residents rushing out of their homes in panic as the tremors were strongly felt across the region.

The NCS confirmed the details on social media, stating, “Earthquake of Magnitude: 4.0, Occurred on 17-02-24, 5:36 AM IST, Lat: 28.59°N & Long: 77.16°E, Depth: 5 Km, Location: 9 km E of New Delhi.”

At New Delhi railway station, vendor Anish shared his experience, saying, “Everything was shaking… customers started screaming…”
